sketch for "support the troops"

Slow and tiring day...but some good work came out of it

DRAWING:

This is a practice for the new assignment of drawing paper bags and making a design from them. It reminded me of my Ap art class :)

DESIGN:

New assignment is to make a 3D wire sculpture of your head with line. This is a practice of simple lines...it was done in 1 minute. This was to help with understanding line construction. There are about 15 before this and this one is the final one....

DIGITAL MEDIA DESIGN: My mother's calming and tranquil impact in my life

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Quite a change from before right? After "simplifying" it and taking out the pictures that distracted your eyes I brought out the meaning behind this project. Now all I need is a picture of my mom...you will see how this end up..But I'm loving the lotus!!!!

I spy with my little eye the letter.....
Tell me what letters you see in these everyday objects around Newark, DE!

The first letter in the bike is quite obvious ( I would hope)
But can you get you guess the second letter made out of the pipes?

Try it out..play the game (and please get it right! It's hard to find alot of these letters!!)

Interesting? I love how this came out. I did a drawing before this of a blue hawk, but I want to show a dove in some way. I wanted to capture the essence of the birds beauty in my own way.

Artist Cassandra Jones visited during colloquium tonight. She has an innovative and different outlook on digital art. She used methods such as single frame animations and techniques with patterns on photoshop. My favorite piece of hers was the lighting drawn squirrel (a rural animal in a urban setting).

This is what I may use as my background image for the project in Digital media. I really tried to make it my own. Yet...I still don't know how to "work things out" with adding more meaning with objects. BUT, I'm really liking how it looks so far

Decided to play around with some imagery on photoshop and combine with layers. Tried to make it look like I took the picture in the reflection of the water. The highlights in the water work well in the grass. really like this idea :)

I did some more work today with foreground, mid-ground, and background...
here's a peek:

Thursday, September 24, 2009

I'm having a little trouble working with focusing on the foreground and the background separately. But, I was going through my 100 photos and I found a photo I did with my tomato plants at home and IT'S FOCUSED IN THE MIDDLE GROUND!!

So, just now, I went outside to work with panning and got an interesting shot. I may use it, but the lights bother me, yet are cool? Confusing I know..But the panning was hard during the day cause the picture would come out so bright...help? :)

First Post!
HII! I chose this self-portrait because of the natural lighting. I also wanted to portray the sense of being down to earth. I love the vibrant colors and all the variation of shades! It's a close up and cropped angle of my face, which to me, makes it interesting and unique. I also like the photo because of my glasses...THEY ARE NEW!! So, I tried to incorporate them into my photos as much as possible :)

I wanted to send in this photo for the assignment but I felt that having more than one black and white photo was a bit much (my brother agreed). comments?
